How The Comic Blast handles personal information: the newsletter, what this site collects, and who else sees it.

Last updated: September 12, 2026

The Comic Blast highlights indie comic book, graphic novel and manga crowdfunding projects. This page explains what happens to personal information on thecomicblast.com.

What we collect

  • When you sign up for the newsletter. Your first name, if you give one, and your email address. These are held by Acumbamail (opens in a new tab), our newsletter provider. You will get an email asking you to confirm before anything is sent, every issue has an unsubscribe link, and nothing reaches Acumbamail unless you submit the form yourself.
  • When you email us. If you write to info@thecomicblast.com — to submit a campaign or for any other reason — we keep what you send so that we can answer it.
  • When you visit this site. Nothing. There is no analytics on this site, no advertising, and no cookies are set by it.

Like every web server, ours records the address of each request, the browser making it and the time. Those logs keep the site working and secure.

How we use it

We use your email address to send you the newsletter you asked for, and nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it or share it, and we do not pass subscriber details to the creators whose projects we feature.

Most of what we link to is somewhere else — Kickstarter, Zoop, Indiegogo, a creator’s own page, Facebook. Once you follow one of those links you are on their site, and their terms and privacy policy apply to what happens there. We have no part in it and no visibility of it.

Who else sees it

Only the services that run the site: our web host, and Acumbamail for the newsletter. Some of them store information outside Canada, where the laws of that country apply.

How long we keep it

Your newsletter subscription lasts until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link in any issue. Email you send us is kept as long as it is useful, and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@thecomicblast.com and we will answer. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (opens in a new tab).

This policy may change; the date at the top says when it last did.

Making a comic? Tell us about it.

We feature indie comic, graphic novel and manga campaigns in our newsletter, and there is no charge to be considered.
