Why this exists
The Comic Blast is dedicated to highlighting awesome comic book and graphic novel projects on crowdfunding platforms. During COVID-19, Kickstarter became the most important platform for launching print indie comics, and we want to help creators get their work out there.
We are here to help comic book and graphic novel creators promote and market their work worldwide. We do this by featuring great projects in our email newsletters.
Want to feature your project? Reach out to info@thecomicblast.com and we will get back to you, because we love comic books and we love seeing indie creators succeed!
How a project ends up in the newsletter
01
You send us the link
Email info@thecomicblast.com with your campaign — live, in preview, or launching soon. A preview link is fine, and earlier is better than later.02
We read the campaign page
What the book is, who made it, what the tiers are, and whether the shipping and the schedule look like somebody has done this before.03
It goes out to the list
Featured projects appear in an issue with the artwork you sent us, a short description, and a link straight to the campaign.04
It stays in the archive
Every featured project keeps a place on the comics page after the campaign closes, so a finished book is still findable.

Questions we get
Does it cost anything to be featured?
No. There is no charge to creators, and no paid placement in the newsletter.
Which platforms do you cover?
Kickstarter, Zoop and Indiegogo. Kickstarter is where most indie comics still launch; Zoop runs comics and graphic novels only; Indiegogo is where flexible funding lives. If your campaign is somewhere else, write to us anyway.
What kind of comics do you feature?
Independent comic books, graphic novels and manga, in print. Single issues, collected editions, anthologies and original graphic novels are all fair game.
When should I get in touch?
Before you launch, if you can. A campaign has the most to gain in its first week, and we need enough notice to fit it into an issue.
Do you review the comics?
No. We tell readers what a project is and let the campaign page make its own case. What we will not do is feature something we would not back ourselves.
